Looks: Lacks hind toe. Non Breeding birds have pale grey upperparts and snow white underparts. Broad white wing bar is visible during flight. Short slender straight black bill and black legs. On rest sometimes shows a blackish shoulder patch. Very active bird and used to run after waves. Habitat: Sandy beaches.
പ്രജനനേതരസമയത്ത് ഇവയുടെ മുകൾഭാഗം വിളറിയ ചാരനിറത്തിലും അടിഭാഗം വെള്ളനിറത്തിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇവയുടെ കാൽ കറുപ്പുനിറത്തിലുള്ളതും പിൻവിരലുകളില്ലാത്തതുമാണ്. പറക്കുമ്പോൾ പക്ഷരേഖകൾ വലുതും വെള്ളനിറത്തിലുമാണെന്നു കാണാം. കൊക്ക് ചെറുതും കറുത്തതുമാണ്. വിശ്രമിക്കുമ്പോൾ ചിലസമയങ്ങളിൽ തോളിൽ ഒരു കറുത്ത പാടു കാണാം. മിക്ക സമയങ്ങളിലും വളരെ സജീവമായിരിക്കുന്നതും തിരകൾക്കുപിന്നാലെ ഓടിക്കളിക്കുന്നതും കാണാം. കടൽത്തീരങ്ങളിലെ മണൽപ്പരപ്പിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
